Fiori is a Vocal Ensemble of seven women which was established in
Jyväskylä, Finland in 1993. During these active years Fiori has
performed a great diversity of repertoire from European traditional
music through Medieval and Renaissance music all the way to modern
classical compositions.
In late years Fiori has worked with two Finnish musicians Liisa
Matveinen and Tellu Turkka, performing their traditional style
compositions and singing stories of women's life. In 2007 begun a
cooperation with composer Michael Parsons, when Parsons composed the
series Three Sappho songs to Fiori. Again in September 2009 Fiori
debuted with Parson's Two Children's song from Antique Creek (the
Cicada song and The Swallow song). In summer 2010 the ensemble is
performing and recording these compositions in London, UK.
