G – Adult chamber choirs (men´s, women´s, mixed – max. 24 singers)
H – Sacred and clerical music
H1 – children's and boys' choirs (S, A) up to 16 years of age
H2 – youth and adult choirs
H3 – polyphony
H4 – Gregorian choral
H5 – Orthodox music
I – Spiritual, gospel, jazz
I1 – children's and boys' choirs (S, A) up to 16 years of age
I2 – youth and adult choirs
K – Folklore
K1 – folklore a cappella for children's and boys' choirs (S, A) up to 16 years of age
K2 – folklore a cappella for youth and adult choirs
K3 – folklore with instrumental accompaniment for children's choirs
K4 – folklore with instrumental accompaniment for youth and adult choirs
X - Not contesting choirs
participating as spectators, may sing in a concert
competition rules
- the contest is open for non-professional choirs
- one choir may take part in more categories of the contest
- there is no limit as to the number of singers, save for the chamber choir categories (max. 24 singers)
- age limitation: singers must not reach the age that is given in the competition category as of the day of competition
- the choir sends one copy of scores of the contest compositions
- the copies of scores are not returned, they are supposed to stay in the festival archive
- the programme the choir sent cannot be changed
- no acoustic trial performance is allowed to be done in the Competition Hall
- the time limit for the categories of children's choirs is 10 minutes of clear time
- the time limit for the categories of youth and adult choirs is 15 minutes of clear time
- in the case of the given time limit being surpassed the jury will terminate the contest performance of the choir
- all the contest categories shall perform one composition a capella
- categories H are only for compositions a capella
- in all competition categories the singing is expected without a microphone and other devices
- according to the number of gained points the jury will award:
Golden Cup 90 – 100 points
Silver Cup 75 – 89 points
Bronze Cup 60 – 74 points
- besides the point classification, the jury shall not issue any other written evaluation of the choir performance
